Self

I think I've always been very visually aware, I've always noticed the subtleties in my surroundings. Lines, angles, shapes, the way light dances across the ground through a canopy of trees. Finding photography really allowed me to understand, appreciate and articulate what I was seeing.

I have no special affinity with any one type of image, I'll photograph anything. I try my best to not be pigeon-holed, I don't want to be just a portrait photographer, just an architectural photographer, just a still life photographer. My affinity lies with the process, I love photography in all it's forms.

I am a huge advocate of raw visual impact, I truly believe, as cliched as it sounds, that a picture is worth a thousand words. A good picture needs no explanation, it can take you to another place, make you think, make you feel.

I draw inspiration from everything; those that are close to me, other photographers, visual media, music, random conversations, a fleeting reflection in a puddle. I've climbed mountains at 3am just to get caught in a blizzard, crossed frozen rivers, dangled off the edges of cliffs, waded chest deep through muddy bogs, all to capture that one moment in time where everything falls into place.

I love what I do.

    Little Miss Pink Wellies says:

"To tell you the truth I can't remember when I met Rob he is a friend that you seem to have always known.

He is a talented photographer who is always willing to help guide aspiring photographers ( I should know he has taught me a lot over the last couple of months. For which I will be eternally grateful). With me he has the patience of a saint...if not he hides it well.
I may ask blonde questions but he always takes the time to explain things to me.

One thing is for sure. Rob is destined for great things within photography and for this I wish him the best of luck. Thank you Rob for everything."

"Rob belonged to some of the same groups as me and his images immediately stood out to me from the group pools and I added him as a contact straight away.

He reminds me of myself at times, we are both self taught and our styles are very similar plus we share the same photographic interests and are constantly trying to learn and he has helped me a lot in this respect, especially recently. He ain't bad company either.

Keep it up mate, enjoying following your journey!"

    © Garrison Smith says:

"To say that this man is an outstanding photographer would be the biggest understatement one can make. His work is that of a genius and deserves much more attention. If you haven't spent hours studying his work yet, I suggest you do so. I have learned so much from him and look forward to learning more and more. Again, saying that he could be classified as an average photographer would merit some reconsidering because his photos rock. End of story.

Keep it up, Rob. You're amazing. God has certainly blessed you."
