James Yeung's photostream
|
One shot, one story.
I like shooting streets. Streets are the life of the city. My motto is that there is a story behind every streetphoto. It is up to the photographer to capture the scene and the viewer to discover and interpret the story behind the shot.
Grateful for all the comments including constructive criticisms of my work. Thank you to all those who have inspired me.

If you have nothing available to me in your photostream and have added me as contact or faved my pictures, sorry but I will have to block you.

She Said Unprintable Things says:
"James Yeung! A king of talent and skill! His images are little works of perfection, which he achieves with such love of his craft.
It is a joyous privilege to follow his posts. A joy to get involved in the stories he offers, which are as well made as a big budget film- script, lights, camera, and action included.
I am always peeking in to his EXIF data, trying to learn a little something from him!"31st December, 2010

Dj Poe says:
"One of the best nighttime photographers. One of the best cinematic photographers. One of the best candid photographers. Well let's just put it this way, James is one of the best photographers I know. His whole style of taking pictures is everything I like. In fact I will go on the record to say, James was the first person who really inspired me to take candid/cinematic shots. So I must give credit where it is due. James changed my whole style and way of looking at photography. Keep it up my friend....

"James was one of the first cinematic photographers I had the opportunity to meet here in Flickr. Since the first time I saw his photos I fell in love with this awesome kind of photography, the one I've been devoted to for the last times. He always manage to tell us a story with just giving a look to one of his pictures, and I especially love his night shots, full of bokeh, colors and emotions.
An awesome photographer, but also a kind and modest person!"27th September, 2010

My own prison says:
"When I saw one of his pictures for first time, I really thought it was an extract from some asian movie. But when I took a deeper look at his stream, I realised it was not a real movie, but a photography style. His own photography style. I had just discovered Cinematic Photography, which fastly captivated me.
All of his pictures are amazing! And I think that nobody gets better street night shots!
One of the biggests on flickr."22nd September, 2010

"It is the first time I write a testimonial at flickr and it must go to James. James is one of the photographers at flickr who inspired me most at street photography. The 5D Mark II and 135L become the best story teller at his hands. James is also a nice and creative person, I am glad to had the chance to have photo walk with him, it is such a memorable and inspiring experience. Keep up your great work James!"

"The cinematic showcase in his stream is adorable. Being a bokeh fancier, street photography lover, his stream just yields attractive offers for many flicks.
One of THE factors, however, is the fact that everytime I feel like revisiting HK, his pics are just lively and awesome enough to liven up your travel plans - Maybe we can see some movies as well?
Keep it up, man !"9th November, 2009

"I enjoy James' shots very much, his work is brilliant! An aspect I find most impressive about James' photography is not so much the quality of his shots, because any photographer can achieve that, but the depth of his photography. A story behind every shot, and an impressive eye for capturing life in those glorious candid moments.
Perhaps in the future, Henri Cartier-Bresson and James Yeung might be synonymous ^^ ~ Thanks for sharing your wonderful pics, James! Keep up the amazing work!

"What else can be better than a 5D Mark II & 135mm f/2L on James's hands! James has a cool vision and captures great candid shots! Cinematic & love the bokeh! Like what he mentioned, he believes that there are stories behind every one of them and that is totally true, i can see it in his shots!
James controls good light & tones in his shots which is one special thing i love from his photos! Nevertheless his landscape & cityscape shots are nice too :D
