I'm a struggling writer, struggling being the operative word, because I have an as-yet unpublished novel (which I'm not going to go into, so don't ask) and another one which is flagging. I also have sixty copies of the Radio and TV Times, nearly twenty copies of Jackie Magazine and more books than I know what to do with.

The things I don't have (but I want) are a girlfriend, a car and a paid job, although I'm closer to getting the latter. Since I last updated my profile info, I've been told I won't be getting paid after all for the job I'm doing, which is a major kick in the nuts.

There's also been another addition to my photo-taking arsenal - a Canon Digital IXUS 100 IS. Because of its image stabiliser, this comes in handy for whenever I'm in museums or if I don't want to use the flash (so long as I hold the thing absolutely still). But that reminds me, I've got a film-based camera that's getting a bit neglected, so I'll have to make more use of that.

Although I took my first photograph way back in 1977 (that'll be coming up soon) it was when I turned fifteen that I really started snapping away, because that's when I got my first camera, so it's not really surprising that one of my VSUs (vocational support workers) called me 'David Bailey'!

The only drawback of taking so many photos is that you have to upload them if you're using digicams. As for analogue photography, well, I'll have to look for those films I used up two years ago and start getting them developed - I've got more printed shots than know how to store them!
