Hi, and welcome to my profile.

I'm Rob, 27, and from Doncaster in the UK. I've been into photography for about 15 years or so, but have only started to take it seriously in the past 2 years or so. I currently use a Nikon D300 and a collection of various lenses, but in the past have used a Nikon D100, Fujifilm S5600 and a Minolta Z1.

I work for the Ministry of Justice in the Prisons sector, its an interesting job, and something which is different every day.

At the moment, outside of my normal employ, I see action as the Matchday photographer for Doncaster RLFC, something which I started at the beginning of March 2010. Before that, I've been spending a lot of the winter at Doncaster Knights RUFC, assisting their Media Manager, Martin, in obtaining images for use in the local media, and on any matchday marketing material, such as Posters and Programmes. At the moment, this entails me just taking pictures at matches, but the scope is there to do more.

I can normally be found taking photos of railway related things, normally interesting workings and anything that takes my fancy.

I also do a few sporting events (mainly amateur rugby) and can often be seen around there.

I have the philosophy towards photography of never being scared to try anything different. I am influenced by a lot of great photographers, the likes of Paul Riley (taken far too soon), Eric Treacy, David White and Fishbones Glover, each provide inspiration in their own way (Fishbones is very active now, and is taking some absolutely fascinating pictures).

Whilst I feel you can never learn too much, I believe that there is no such thing as a bad photo. Many people have their 'niche' shots (especially in the railway photography genre), and this is something I am seeking to alter in my own photos.
