"Ist ja ein sehr faszinierendes Medium, Fotografie. Weil guck mal... die Fotos hat ja jemand fotografiert das heisst da ist jemand der den Auslöserknopf gedrückt hat und das sind ja sehr intime sehr private, sehr... Sekunden hundertstel Sekunden... doch... gibts nur einmal diesen klick, oder diesen Auslöser."

"It's a very fascinating medium, photography. Cause, see... someone photographed these photos which means there's somone who pressed the shutter release button and that are very intimate very private, very... seconds hundredth of seconds... yes... happens only once this clock or this release."

Snow Patrol Bangor

When I was a kid I always used my parents cameras to take pictures. First it was a film roll inside of a box, then a real film roll.
I took pictures of my room lying on the floor, or hanging myself out of the window (and nearly fell down) to got shots of the swallows that had built their nest under the roof.
Later my parents gave me my own camera. When I was in France with a few other young people I went to a photoworkshop. We made our own pictures with Cameras that had had no batteries. Everything had to be done by hand, even developing the film roll. I knew nothing about light, time and such. I only took pictures of people and nature and things that I was interested in. It was great!

Later I bought myself an APS camera. I totally loved that I can choose the size of the picture, and that they had a different point of view somehow.

Again year later I bought an Olympus SP320. The first digital camera beside my cell phone I had so far. Again I was shooting what I liked, from different point of views like back then when I was lying on the floor in my room.

Now that I have a Olympus E 420 everything is different. I have to learn again... and I do. And I still take pictures of the world as I see it now. And it's beautiful (Except someone is taking a picture of me ;)
