Me
I'm recent graduate of the University of Oregon (majored in Computer Science, minored in Chemistry) who enjoys photographing the world we live in.

I've been interested in both computers and photography for as long as I can remember. I have vivid memories of hacking out trivial programs on my parents' Commodore 64, and of running around taking pictures of everything with my dad's 35mm camera.

As a recent graduate, I'm currently looking around for work as an application programmer. I've played around with several languages, though Java is the one I'm most familiar with. C# and C++ are close seconds though. I'm keeping an open eye out for a job which piques my interest.

My Photos
I have a fondness for macro photography; I feel it lets us pause to appreciate those things which go unnoticed right under our noses every day. From the abstractness of threads on a screw to the simple beauty of a cherry blossom, there is much in the world that is passed over without a second thought.

I also take a number of landscape and architecture shots, along with the occasional portrait. Portrait photography is a particularly weak area of mine, though I'm often called upon to take them (being the photographer in the family :D).

My Gear
Currently I own a Canon Rebel XT (EOS-350D) and tthree lenses, which I bought as a present to myself in the summer of 2006. Prior to that point, I made heavy use of my parents' or friends' cameras.

My lenses are the Canon EF 24-85mm f/3.5-4.5 USM, the Sigma 70-300mm F/4-5.6 APO DG Macro, and the Sigma 50mm f/1.4 EX DG HSM. The 70-300 is my least favorite because of how soft it is, but for the price it can get you pretty close to a subject.

My other gear is mostly old stuff scavenged from wherever I can find it. My flash unit was from an old 35mm camera my grandpa gave me (which has since gone MIA--I think its stowed away at my parents house), and my tripod (up until Christmas 2007) was a $5 Goodwill special.
