I don´t consider myself a very clever photographer. But I do enjoy strolling up and down the streets in any city, shooting away at leisure.

The African cities I have visited seem to share a certain vibe: the street vendors, the packed commuter cars, the constant chatter of a thousand voices, a smell of diesel fumes, hot tarmac and (not seldom) urine.

When I finally got my first digital camera, shooting pictures made a lot more sense. Since I bought my Lecia D-Lux 3 in February, I think I have added up to more than 5 000 exposures.

These are some pictures from my recent travels in African countries. A lot of them are from Zanzibar, where I have spent a lot of time in 2007, since my girlfriend has been working there.
