Joyce (away from the cactus patch)'s photostream  

I love hiking the desert, gardening (was in Master Gardeners for a couple of years but learned more from all my decades of actual gardening!), photography and quilting. I have been sewing for about 50 years and quilting since 1989. I have loved photography since I was a child and got my first 35mm camera when I was 17. I am a native New Mexican and love photos showcasing the beauty of the Southwest.

I really enjoy flickr. I have learned from other photographers here and so enjoyed their photos. Storage was my main reason for uploading photos. It is fun to get comments though.

I don't want invites to large groups with lots of flashy icons that clutter the photostream. Or that require X number of comments. Many gardens, including mine, do NOT have lots of green in the background--I live in a desert with gorgeous mt. views. So please don't invite me to garden groups with that as a requirement and then delete photos because of no green background! In the interest of sharing, please don't add my photos to your favorites unless you have photos available to me. I love to see what camera and settings you are using, so please share!

I am using a Motorola Xoom tablet to enjoy flickr most of the time and it will not allow me to add group comment codes another reason I don't enjoy groups that require them.
