NOTE: I no longer add names to my Contacts list as I cannot keep up
with the reciprocation that flickr somehow requires; so please do not
feel bad if you make me a contact and I do not make you a contact as
well, because sometimes I cannot comment back if you write something
about my photos. :(

=================================================

My bread and butter used to be advertising photography,
with a dash of documentary producton and TV commercial
direction, and a side dish of scriptwriting and songwriting.

I now just shoot for the love of photography, and have
accumulated some interesting BIF (birds in flight) shots mainly
because our backyard lake is blessed by many visiting feathered
friends of all sorts and species, and because here in
south Florida, parks and beaches are just minutes away. :)

I also try to capture nature scenes whenever I can
because I believe that these will be gone all too soon. :(

In the little-over-a-year that I've been in flickr,
I've created four groups (join us there, please):

KABAYAN: Fil-Am Fotogs
poems-and-photographs
SFX*Special Effects
”I’M SEEING THINGS!”

---------------------------------------

According to Explore, this photo is my #1 in terms of
"Interestingness," "Views," "Favorites" and "Comments." :)

"Duck Pins Nervously Awaiting The Ball!"

"Jim recently wrote a lovely testimonial for me and I have to repeat the sentiment he shared--what took both of us so long! I guess we both realize that we don't need to put our praises into a testimonial, the respect and friendship we feel for one another comes through loud and clear in our comments and side emails. I always try to find that first photo that drew me to any one of my dearest Flickr friends--I had to go way back with the Birdman! Couldn't tell if it was one of his Photoshop creations, amazing bird photos, or the cloud shots that he posts and challenges us all to find the fire-breathing dragon or panting dog, LOL! Jim has been a wonderful friend and a great mentor--he is always up for the challenge when I email a lens question or need his advice about anything. We also share that mutual dislike for some of the Flickr games, seems like more and more of this Explore/Front Page frenzy is turning people we thought were friends into obsessed strangers. Enough of the complaining--I love to see the world through Jim's lens. His shots around his home make me wish I lived there. Would have to say that his bird shots are his forte'. He produces some of the most magnificent photos of birds in flight, in the water or anywhere else for that matter. The best on Flickr in my opinion! Thank you Jim, for your talent and most of all for your unyielding and unconditional friendship--hugs to you my dearest Pinoy friend!"

    "Where do I begin??

Jim...(Os'Pre, as I affectionately call him,) is the real deal.

His birds in flight (BIF) photos are out of this world..they all tell a story, and usually a very funny story at that!

Jim has a heart filled with humor, and spreads it to all who row through his stream.

Expect the unexpected:....you may see a photo of a Mallard Duck...that looks like a bowling pin.....and the next day, you will see a photo of 10 Ducks...lined UP as bowling pins...!!!!

Jim has a stream packed with powerful, wonderful photos, all that will keep you coming back for more.....one is too many and a thousand is never enough!!

    can you say "ADDICTION"??

I'm addicted to Os'Pre's stream. I row through every day, because his photos are a pleasure to look at, and he goes that extra mile to add funny captions and titles....he quacks me up!

In addition, Jim has given me invaluable information about photography, he's always happy to answer questions, and he explains things to me in a way that my dyslexic mind can understand. He's helped me immeasureably..and I'm grateful to him for that!!

    He's a cool dude....and I'm grateful to count Os'Pre as a friend.
    BwesUhachU!!!!! :) (((((((OS'PRE)))))))

    in Jim's words...

    KEEP ON SHOOTING!!"

    "KUYA Jim...

is like a big brother to me! Although I have not met him personally I can tell that he's one of those that I can count on! He's my confidante and definitely a person that I look up to. You can definitely learn a lot from him, all you have to do is to either take it or leave it...but all I know most of the times he does make sense. You just gotta open up your mind and be humble. Here's to you Kuya! CHEERS!"

"If I have to pick one photographer in flickr, only one person comes to mind (no doubts). Yes, pinoyphotog aka BirdMan aka pinoyphotoshop'er aka Jim is the ONE! His photographs are full of actions, stories and of course the humor that comes with each one of them.

I know he does not like to be called "idol" but truly he is my idol! I really look up to him, he's not selfish when it comes to giving out ideas, tips and suggestions on lenses (esp hehe). One thing I remembered when I first started, he invited me to Kabayan, I told him I feel intimidated with all the amazing shots in the pool. He replied, "wag kag magpa intimidate" LOL!!

I would like to thank you for all your help. I am really thankful that our paths crossed here in flickr world :)

"His photographs are a wonderful gentle range of emotive images that are a pleasure to view! He demonstrates thorough understanding of the artistic concepts of balance and composition while keeping in mind theme and variation. His photographic manipulations are particularly inspiring to my own personal creative endeavors. As a Flickr Friend, Pinoyphotog has been a supportive and encouraging influence, never lazy about dropping by for visits to leave helpful comments and urging me to shoot. Quite certainly, he is a valuable contact that I will learn alot from, developing my skills farther!"
