  Andy has photographed from San Francisco to New York City; from London to Paris; from the great American Southwest to India. His photography is painted with passion, whether it is an emotional portrait of a person he has met on the street, to jaw-dropping landscapes of sea or of land, to intimate portraits of his beautiful daughters and his lovely Michele. His love for photography is only surpassed by his obvious love of his family.
  
  Wherever Andy focuses his camera, it is always in earnest and with the intent on perfection. And rarely, if ever, does he disappoint. He knows composition…thoroughly, and that is one of the greatest strengths of his art. As Henry David Thoreau once wrote, “The question is not what you look at, but what you see”. And so it is with Andy: he has the photographer’s eye.
  
  More than anything Andy has been a friend to me since I joined Flickr. He is my mentor, having learned not only from his photography, but just as importantly from his extraordinarily insightful comments about my photography. I have learned from him; I have grown from him. When I have a question about photography, I ask Andy, and he gives it to me straight. I jokingly call him my Zen master, but it is said in half fun and in full earnest.

  A Fool in Miami (I am Back) says:

  "This was long overdue, but to tell you the truth I felt that I neither had the capacity nor the command of the English language to put my thoughts on paper for a friend. So here is an attempt.
  
  I got a digital camera as a gift a couple of years ago. I had no idea what I was doing. Often, dissapointed in my abilities I put the camera away. Then, about a year or so ago I joined Flickr to learn how to take better pictures. On a very lucky day I met Andy my teacher, mentor and my best supporter ever. Things changed for me rapidly because of his comments and encouragement.
  
  Andy is a perfectionist and his work is brilliant to say the least. Just take a second look and you will see. Again, take second look and you will see details that are mesmerizing. The crops, the angle and the composition, oh the composition, it is in a class of its own.
  
  Look at his photographes there is hardly any manipulation in photoshop. It's straight up and spot on. Very few of us can claim that, including myself.
  
  Andy's understanding of light is mind boggling. Look at his potraits
  they are so inspiring to a novice like me. To top it all off, he lets you know exactly how he took the shot. All details are listed for us to learn. I wonder if Ansel Adams did that
  
  A few days ago he took a picture of a "tractor for sale", that just hit home for me, as my grand dad, who was a farmer went bankrupt. Next thing I know there is an email from Andy, offering me the high resolution version without me even ever asking.
  
  Today, I was offered job as the assitant photographer for City of Miami Beach and if it was not Andy's encouragement I would have sold the camera

  "Andy is a perfectionist, do doubt about it. When one comes across his photographs, the effort clearly shows because his compositions are always so full of detail. Be it nature shots, people or objects, I can always see in them the effort he put in to not only see them, but also to study them. Consequently, I have yet to see a shot of his lacking in clarity.
  
  He has a beautiful mind, an eye for detail and most commendable - he knows what he wants to show the world, and he shows it through his photographs.
  
  Also, one can hardly discuss Andy without mentioning the absolutely wonderful way he takes in other's works and giving it respect by leaving comments which clearly shows as to how much thought he'd put into it, taken the time to actually study and analyze them. I came across him through the wonderful group 'Life Thru A Lenz' and I'm very glad that I did. Best wishes as always Andy, keep being as wonderful as you are! =)"
