I have been an artist and painter for 35 years, studying under great mentors like my father and a college professor and former Disney animator Ralph Gilbert. My career paths have spanned everywhere from cartoon animation to hurricane adjuster to insurance fraud investigation and litigation.

My favorite hobby is storm and nature photography. Currently I am using my father's old Cannon Rebel camera. I live in the North Georgia Mountains, so there's plenty to see and capture with the lense (especially in the fall and winter months). During the spring and summer I spend a lot of time in the eastern and southern coastal regions photographing thunderstorms, hurricane damage, and tornadoes (when I can get lucky enough to have one spring up before my eyes).

The name Hurricane Blaze was given to me by an adjuster friend who saw me sifting through rubble after Hurricane Ivan. He said with my auburn hair, my construction gear and big boots, and dirty face, I was the most original looking insurance professional he had even seen. I think he was being sarcastic?
