I’m Alex Warofka, a third-year student at Case Western Reserve University in the hopelessly boring city of Cleveland, Ohio. At Case, I’m pursuing a dual degree programme in economics and finance with minors in Japanese and Chinese.

When not busy revising for exams, working on research, or enjoying Cleveland’s notoriously miserable winters, I spend my time traveling. I’ve lived in or visited more than 30 countries, including many in the developing world. I feel equally at home in a London club, an Indonesian village, or a Tokyo capsule hotel. Since 1 January 2010, I’ve flown more than 85,000 miles.
