Greetings and welcome to my "profile." I don't really look very much like my buddy icon.

I've been a member of Flickr since November 2006. I started paying attention to photography sometime around 2003, when I found myself in a job in which I was in charge of a website and a monthly magazine -- both of which required a steady stream of images. So I started taking pics with the office cameras, a couple of old Sonys of 3 and 5 MP. I soon found that I liked photography. It didn't even seem like work.

Since then, I've owned more than a dozen digital cameras of various kinds. I'm currently shooting mostly with a Pentax K-5 and Canon Powershot S95.

I like to mix things up in my photostream and will rarely post two pics in a row that are in any way similar. I try to upload something to Flickr every day.

Some people shoot primarily landscapes, others mainly birds or flowers or portraits. I have no preference for any particular type of photography; I'll shoot anything and everything that I think might make an interesting image. If I were good enough to do this for a living, though, I'd probably try to land a gig somewhere as a photojournalist.
