My Cousin & Me

I'm your typical outdoor wilderness guy who dreams of traveling to the most remote areas of this world and swimming in the waters, riding my mountain bike, hiking and climbing the summits and otherwise being a part of and engaging the physical world. Of course having a camera and some gear along allows me to express how I see places through images and perspectives. I've spent the last several years exploring the Southern Appalachian areas of Western North Carolina, Upstate South Carolina, Eastern Tennessee and Southwestern Virginia.

My gear consists of a Nikon D200 camera body, Nikkor 12-24 wide-angle lens, Nikkor 70-200mm telephoto lens, Manfrotto tripod legs, Arca-Swiss ball head w/ Really Right Stuff quick release mechanism, Really Right Stuff L-Clips, and various other goodies.

I appreciate everyone who has made this Flickr experience very positive for me, and who continues to inspire me with their great images and insights. Feel free to drop me a line and/or to leave me some feedback (positive or negative) on the images if you feel so inclined. However, there is no need to comment just for the sake of it...if an image intrigues you into writing something, then your input would be much appreciated ;)

    Nathan Lanier says:

"Mark is not only a great contact but he's also an awesome photographer. The latest series from the beach in North Carolina really sealed any reservations I might have had about leaving a glowing testimonial - His work kicks ass.

Keep shooting man, you have a great eye for it."
