About My Photos
* Sometimes I take pretty pictures. Sometimes I don't. Depends on how drunk the pixies are in the magic box.
* Sometimes I know what I'm doing. Sometimes there are happy accidents. Sometimes it seems like I don't have hands.
* Sometimes I post-process. Most of the time I don't. I prefer the latter as much as possible.
* Oftentimes I take photography seriously -- too seriously perhaps. I'm working on making it less so, with the hope that it will help me continue to enjoy taking photos, capturing moments, and be a better photographer and artist.

The Big Read
I study photography and photographic history seriously in my spare time. I experiment a lot, usually with film and film cameras. Some experiments work, some don't. As such, I can't yet say that I have my own vision or "voice" as a photographer, but I'm working on that. Usually my photos are of things that strike my emotions at a particular moment -- something I want to record for posterity. It can be the play of light in a shadowy landscape, the dance of forms and geometries, the interactions of people, or the action of life itself. I tend to be drawn to what I call "the loneliness of things" -- how people position and leave things in isolation, often haphazardly, and how those arrangements capture and convey my own sense of loneliness in the world.

I honestly, genuinely welcome all comments, constructive critiques, and advice from other flickrheads and photographers out there. If you see something in a photo that could be better, please don't hesitate to let me know about it. For me, it's all about learning and becoming a better artist.

Equipment
I shoot a mixture of 35mm digital and 35mm/medium-format film cameras. Lately I've been shooting more film than digital. I've also become a bit of a camera whore as I've gotten more and more into photography, so be prepared to see a wide selection of camera specs tagged and described.

And last but not least, I am a voting, tax-paying natural-born US adult citizen over the age of 21. For when that matters *cough*.
