"Vearl has been a friend of mine for over 40 years, since our service in the USMC. More than a friend, a brother. Great photographer! Great leader and a great mensch. I hope to be his "mule" again sometime soon as he loads me up with equipment and we trek off into the north woods of Ontario. I think I better take a book to read while he sets up a shot."

"This man is an amazing photographer. His passion for taking pictures didn't seem to evolve until a bit later in his life. I only wish it had been sooner. He has a great eye, and an enormous amount of patience. He'll wait, and wait, and wait until his subject does exactly the right thing worth capturing. The lesson is, don't join him if he's planning on taking pictures! I've been enormously proud of him and the level of success and recognition he's enjoyed. He's been published and acknowledged. He's gotten trophies and cash-awards. He's been on book covers and magazine pages. He's been featured in many places, but never with as many adoring fans as he has right within his own family.
