In the 25+ years since my first professional science fiction publication*, I've attended more than eighty SF conventions, including seven Worldcons. While I was never as diligent about carrying my camera around the con as a Hal Clement or as aggressive about using it as an Elessar Tetramariner, I still find myself with a respectable con photo album documenting some of the sights in that slice of space and time.

As an experiment, I'm using Flickr to try to share that album with the scattered family of fandom. Most of my con activity was in the upper Midwest (MI-OH-IN-IL) between 1982 and 1995. This album contains pros, fans, editors, artists, filkers, hucksters, and costumers--some I crossed paths with only fleetingly, and some who went on to become close (and even intimate) friends.

I'm saddened by how many have already passed on. It is my hope to eventually get copies of these photos into the hands of the subjects who still walk the Earth--and perhaps you can help with that.
