I bring 30 years' experience in photography, with 25+ of this on a professional level, with a range of skills, in a range of formats. At times, this craft has helped pay bills and feed my family. At times, it has served nicely as an escape from my day-to-day life as a commercial/industrial electrician and project foreman. Despite this long tenure with the camera, I still very much consider myself to be a 'work-in-progress,' still learning and exploring, still adapting, still challenging me to keep stretching and discovering.

One favored instructor I dealt with – Carmel’s Al Weber – etched the term of ‘attitude’ in me: how I approach photography; how I approach my imagery – my outlook, my focus, my conveyance of the 'why' of the image. There’s far more to getting a satisfactory image than pushing a button.

I have a 2nd Flickr account - www.flickr.com/people/20630302@N03/ - that will eventually highlight my older "Film days" in photography: early 1970s to 2002. It will also house my figure/nude studies.

I've recently updated the photos, sets and collections here, to start "painting" a better picture of the extent of my camera work. It crosses many styles and genres, since my interests in life do likewise.

"Where do I begin?? I have "worked" with Richard on numerous occasions now... and, it's really not "work" at all. Richard has a very open mind and heart and has an amazing gift to be able to capture beauty, whether it be the beauty of nature and natural things, or a deep human emotion. Every photo tells a story, and if you ask nicely, he will tell you the story! Richard has become a very close friend and I am SO honored that he will be shooting my wedding in June! No words can really describe the amount of respect I have for this man. He has become like family!"
