It's high time for a bit of a re-write but as my brain is befuddled with a nasty cold I'll do a more substantial effort later (I hope!)

I had my D80 lifted from a bag in April 2010 but now have a D90 upon which to continue learning with the newer AF-S Nikkor 18-200mm 1:3.5-5.6 G II ED VR lens which was also replaced. I am teetering on the verge of re-joining JacqiB doing something like the 365 Days project ...

I'm a bit of a hippy biker geezer who likes snowsports, cycling, music and watching American Football and motorcycle racing. I got my 1968 Beetle back on the road ... and exported it, my bike and the rest of my possessions with me to New Zealand where II hope I've found a permanent position from which to establish home ownership. The Beetle has undergone some expensive work to satisfy the compliance regulations and may get to driver her about again quite soon!

In September 2007 I managed to fail to outwit an adult Roe deer (originally thought to be a Muntjac, but it was far too big, in hindsight) just about here on my way to work on the bike around sunrise on the morning of Friday 7th September 2007, breaking, on the left: clavicle (very musical), scapula and 6 ribs; and on the right: wrist.

In the following 2 years I participated in the London to Brighton cycle ride - something I had wanted to do for many, many years, and a milestone in my rehabilitation as well as in the Sectra dragon boat on Willen Lake in Milton Keynes ...

Initially my uploaded images are unadulterated; I should (and will, honest) fiddle with them, leaving the best ones (IMHO) and processing them to enhance any "niceness" I think I can see in them. %-]

My gear "at present" is/was a Nikon D90 with:
AF-S Nikkor 18-200mm f3.5-5.6 G ED VR DX (stolen 2010/04/05)
AF-S Micro Nikkor 105mm f2.8 G ED VR N
AF-S Nikkor 10-24mm f3.5-4.5 G ED DX

I started digital photography with the cool little Nikon Coolpix 7900 more recently wielded by JacqiB and she has courteously gone to the trouble of actually posting a few of my pictures (tagging them RJW) including some of which I am quite pleased. Some have even been seen by other people! ;-] She now most often uses a Nikon Coolpix P90 which has provided some brilliant pictures (IMHO) and can do time-lapse sequences: a feature of which I am quite envious!
