LATEST NEWS : I am fascinated with flash photography and have bought equipment i.e. ELINCHROM flash heads, Boom Arm & Background System from HARISON

NEW ARRIVALS: SPEEDLIGHT PRO KIT accessories for portable flash photography. A MUST HAVE FOR AMATEURS AND PROFESSIONALS. Highly recommended for everyone for travel photography.

JOB:
I am a veteran of the Indian army, as a commissioned officer (Course No. SS-38), August 1984 to Aug 1990). I bid the Indian Army adieu, to pursue my passions whole time, like a free bird. Soon after, I came out of the army, I had to work with Reliance Industries Ltd, for stop-gap arrangements for two years.

I have been associated with wildlife film projects, including two for the National Geographic Society, USA. I did the designing and fabrication of natural history sets for shooting wildlife films under controlled conditions. I also designed cine support equipment and contraptions for wildlife filming. I did NOT contribute as photographer to these films.

NATURE CONSERVATION EFFORTS:
My sole mission is `Nature Conservation Through Education’. To raise funds for all this, I organise special interest photo safaris http://wildhiss.com/

Also, I design and manufacture souvenirs with wildlife motifs to raise funds for Snake Cell. Our wildlife T-shirts are the best in the country.

I love nature, snakes, photography and traveling in my own self-made motor-home named KINGCOBRA, to reach people to educate them about snakes and snakebite. My wife and me educate people about snakes and snakebite - a self-funded project The Snake Cell.

PUBLICATIONs:
I have contributed as the main photographer to THE INDIAN ARMY - AN ILLUSTRATED OVERVIEW a coffee table book for the Indian Army, released by the Defense Minister of India, in September 2007. My photos have also been published in news papers, magazines, textbooks, websites, and magazine covers in India and overseas.

SALE OF IMAGES: All my images are available for publication, but NOT for FREE. The fee for using a photo is determined by how and where these will be used. Please send details about the usage of the image i.e. magazine, corporate report, brochure, newspaper, editorial, etc, then comes the place of the image (front page, inside page, last page, inside page), size of the image (i/4, 1/2, full page), circulation numbers, regional, national, international, etc. I will quote reasonable rate and then send you a high res at short notice via snail mail in CD/ DVD or FTP upload.

WARNING:
I, Capt Suresh Sharma, reserve the right to sue any unauthorized users of my image or part of any image. If you violate my intellectual property you may be liable for actual damages, loss of income, and profits you derive from the use of this image or part of the image, and, where appropriate, the costs of collection and/or statutory damages.

I advice the FREE beggars to stay away from my images, I am sick and tired of replying to such e-mails for free usage of images. I spend my hard-earned money and valuable time to acquire these photos, heavy investment to buy and upgrade my equipment, not to mention I have to pay my bills as well.

"Captain Suresh Sharma doesn't just inspire us. He affirms us with his intelligence, integrity, depth and compassion. He traverses a lonely road...devoting 100% of himself to his art and ideals. Photography is a demanding profession and Captain Sharma is a marvelous exponent. His commitment to SnakeCell & conservation is real and it is serious work. Responding to panic calls at two in the morning is no joke. Retrieving these snakes voluntarily and educating people about their significance lends a humane face to our society...a society horribly in love with material pursuits.

Despite a hectic schedule Suresh the Lionheart always makes time for budding photographers, indulging them, sharing secrets of the trade and watching them blossom with pride. He is a true champion and I wish him success in all his ventures."

"Snakes are my nightmare. I tend to avoid snakes even in flickr or in Nat Geo. However regular visiting in Capt Suresh Sharma’s page made me more comfortable with these serpents. May be someday I will signup for a tour with him to get up-close with the snakes. It’s a great treat to see wild life of India coming alive in his stream. Thanks and best wishes to him for such extraordinary effort. I am looking forward to see more actions from Dear Capt. Shuresh."

"I wanted to thank Suresh for sharing his wonderful photostream with all of us here in "Flickr.com Land." His dedication to educating others about the different types of snakes and their pros and cons is wonderful. It's a beautiful "teaching tool" and one that I hope will go far - not only to students but adults as well. I have passed his information on to my other contacts, as none of us are knowledgeable enough about snake bites and preventive measures to follow.

But that is only a small part of his many talents. One has to visit his photostream "only once" to realize how much he values nature and the beauty that life has to offer all of us. His photography brings you deep within his heart and allows one to see the world through his "glass eye." I feel fortunate to have him as a friend; and look forward to what I will find in his photostream in the near future."

"Captain Suresh - A man with a Fantastic vision, he has really proved that its not only the camera and lenses that works, its also the vision you've behind the viewfinder.

The way he shot the pictures you can read the story of the picture in no time, his love for the fotography and nature can be very well viewed in his pictures.

He has been a great source of inspiration for me, to be honest i can see no other Indian Photographer better than him (no offence).

The portraits he has shot are so lively and fantastic, it seems someday may be the woman in the picture would step out in real.

His passion, efforts, and love for fotography is very unique and special.

    Cheers....Saurabh...."

"Suresh has been my buddy for a long time now. It is very difficult to write a testimonial for a person you know so well. Of all the photographers I have had the ocassion to work with or observe, Captain Suresh stands out for his single minded devotion. I have known no man who'll go to the extend that Suresh will go to get the exact shot that he has in his mind. He will not hesitate waiting for hours in cold water, scortching sun or noisy streets till he gets his shot right, just the way he wants it. The quality of his shots bears testimony to the meticulous preparation, homework, efforts and patience that go into each shot.

What is perhaps more impressive is his childlike curiosity and willingness to learn. These two qualities alone would be sufficient to take him places.

I have come to love Suresh as a person; simple, affectionate and humble! What a combination of qualities of head and heart!"

    Dilip Muralidaran says:

"The Indian Army is one of the Most respectable and pure organization in India that still upholds the pride of the country and what it stands for, one place where corruption and selfishness does not take precedence over responsibility and patriotism, at least not as bad as any other govt. organization.

This man, i proudly call a friend "Captain Suresh" as i know is one of the best examples of a fine Human Being that the Indian Army can tone and shine to the best.

His knowledge and expertise on snakes is exceptional, something that i don’t see in anyone else with the exception of late Steve Irwin. His contribution through www.snakecell.org must be given all the credibility and commendations since snakes are a species that carry too much of myth and unnecessary fear in our country and not much folks would really care to save them or realize their importance in the life chain.

You need to check out his snake macro's and people portraits with detailed documentation on civilizations and lifestyle which give you a high level understanding of issues that people seldom want to address in India. Clearly it reflects the courage and unbeatable amount of bravery and determination that the Indian army pours and moulds you into when you serve for it.

It's a pleasurable experience to know, admire and learn from Suresh, people like him make flickr a place worthwhile to hang in for good.

My Love and support remains with Suresh for all times for him, his family and his cause."
