Before I discovered letterpress, I spent many years in publications as a writer and editor. Sometimes, during deadline crunches, I was called into service as a production assistant, and I found that I loved being in the printshop and bindery.

I'm an avid reader who has always paid at least as much attention to the form as to the content of the written word. As a writer/editor, it was always important to me where, exactly, things fell on a page. My interest in letterpress leans toward broadsides and books, but I do make stationery for friends.

I studied letterpress with Linda Dare and Gerald Lange at Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles. I also took the Vandercook maintenance workshop taught by Mr. Lange. In 2007 I bought and restored a Vandercook No. 4 proof press.

I live in coastal Southern California with my husband, twentysomething son, two cats, and two turtles. My press resides in our living room next to a grand piano.
