  "I’ve known Jim (‘junga”) through his work here on Flickr for only a short time. Two things impress me most about Jim’s photography. First, his images are personal and heartfelt. A native Texan, Jim’s images embody the heart and soul of small towns in Texas and by projection, across America. His love of Texas is evident in every frame he shoots be it a landscape, nature shot, a sunset or simply an image reflecting life and ordinary things he sees around him. Second, Jims work is consistently top rate; I’ve been following his work closely and have yet to see an image that is anything short of excellent. An architect by profession, Jim intuitively understands structure, texture and color and he demonstrates this understanding in his photographic vision and the images produced by that vision. Good photographers are capable of making something that is visually pleasing even more beautiful in their work. What distinguishes Jim is his consistent ability to take subject matter that is ordinary or even ‘ugly’ and make from it a photographic image that is eye-catching and beautiful."
