I love photography. Ever since I had my first camera I always enjoyed playing with it and taking random pictures. I had a particular liking for landscape shots, even though my dad always used to say "don't just take a picture of the mountains, take a picture of people in front of them - its more interesting". Still, I prefer to take the landscape shots, and hiking or exploring to get a great photo is a wonderful reward.

Now that I have my own digital SLR, I'm starting to take things more seriously. I travel as much as i can afford to, choosing far-off tropical locations (where my friends happen to live) and spending as much time taking pictures as I do relaxing.

My Philosophy on Photography

Photography is not a interest that is self contained -- photographers rarely take photos just for the love of f-stop, aperture and depth-of-field. It is a hobby that you pair with your love of something else. Some people love sports, and they pursue sports photography. Some love birds, and the camera is an extension of that hobby. Others love to travel, and use the camera to show their journey.

If you look at the different photographers here on Flickr, you will see that many of the seasoned photographers have a particular theme to most of their pictures. Each one is telling their story, whether they realize it or not. Photography is an activity that allows you to capture an experience, and convey that experience of the things you love with others.
