I grew up on a self-imposed diet of Punk, Ska, and Underground, but defy all stereotypes. I'm 20 years old, 100% self-taught in both digital and film photography (as well as in Photoshop), and am currently living in Portland, Oregon.
Since the age of 4, I have traveled the world, visiting such places as Singapore, Malaysia, Lombok, Bali, Komodo Island, England, Wales, Mexico, The Cayman Islands, Cuba, and nearly all fifty states.

I once lived in a cave in Colorado for three days, simply to be closer to nature.

A Moment of Self-Discovery (Story)

I also have a rare neurological condition called synesthesia, which makes me see colors when I look at letters, numbers, words, or listen to music. In all, I have at least 12 different forms of it, including the ability to see...

Letters as color
Weekdays as color
Months as color
Time sequences as spatial locations
(Sequences such as numbers, weekdays or months seen in a three-dimensional space around me)
Musical Pitch as color
Musical Chords as color
Musical Instruments as color
Pain as color
Personalities as color
Emotions as color
and certain smells as color...

RX Bandits: Status (Synesthesia Art)

As a photographer and wildlife enthusiest, I've been invloved with many fantastic organizations such as Images4Life and Wild Tiger, as well as the Sierra Club and many smaller, local groups.
I've been published, interviewed, and even featured on Rainn Wilson (Dwight from 'The Office')'s personal networking website, SoulPancake.com.
I'm on the cover of a novel called 'The Picture of Contented New Wealth' by award-winning author Tariq Goddard.

Tariq Goddard: The Picture of Contented New Wealth (Out this September!)

I'm armed with...
One Canon EOS 7D,
One Canon Rebel XTi,
One 18--55mm,
One 70--300mm,
Two polorizing filters,
One waterproof housing unit for underwater shots,
One Cokin gradual 'tobacco'-colored filter,
One Holga (with flash) and several rolls of 120 film,
My mom's old semi-working Honeywell Pentax 35mm film camera,
One really crappy Kodak point-and-shoot back-up digital,
And a sawed-off shotgun.

"after much deliberation i decided my first ever testimonial would go to you. your photography is so unique. i can stare at them all, and i do, actually. the best part of it is (in all due respect) not the photos, but the write-ups. you tell the story behind the photo and you tell it well, because of you i myself went to read up about tigers and wildlife and my love for animals is fueled in my need to fight for them.

for someone the same age as me, i gotta admit... you're one of the people i don't know who i look up to and get inspired by a lot. keep up the great work!"

"I remember sarah convincing everyone she turned into a cat at night in elementry school...as I was younger she didnt remember me when i contacted her after seeing her art. but she was incredably kind and gave me tips on my own photography. It has been really neat getting to see all her work since then.her art is amazing and I find it really inspiring to know that someone who went to my own elementry school could end up with so much ahead of them."

    Judd McCullum says:

"Excellent. People like Sarah scare the hell out of me. Seventeen and Self Taught. I'm in total awe. I don't have words for her photographs, let alone the treatment she cranks out post-shoot. Not enough people toss a little insight underneath the photo, and that she does really shows there's something seriously at work behind the diopter as well as in front of it. Really makes me want to sit down with my creativity and ask it what it's been up to the last few years."

"This is my first real testimonial! :O As of why I chose Little Lioness, you're about to find out. I don't know her, or ever even had some type of Flickr chat with her. But just looking through her photostream made me go "wow" about 98% of the time. She has great talent. It reflects off from the screen. Hypothetically speaking, she has a great future coming towards her. And that's why Little Lioness is someone I can look up to in the field of Photography. The End. (:"

Shooting with you is always a great adventure and I hope to have many more adventures in the future. Keep up the awesome photography, You rock!"
