I got back into photography a couple years ago after pretty much abandoning it all through college and for most of the time after. I'm not exactly sure what lured me back, I know part of it had to do with a girl who remains one of my greatest inspirations. But once I got my first DSLR I was completely hooked.
What I keep reading from people with clients is that clients ruin everything. And I can relate to that. Once you start letting someone else call the shots it loses part of what made it so appealing to begin with. I'm fortunate that I have another career that allows me the time and money to take pictures the way I want, the way that makes me happy. So I do this because sometimes my friends tell me how much they love a picture I took of them, or a picture I took of a landscape or even myself. That makes me smile more than a paycheck ever could.
