Hello my dear flickr-friends,

this text you can find in Spanish and in German at Artmembers Salzburg.

My name is Albert Bogner and I am from Salzburg, Austria. The artist name bognerart I use since a lot of years und there is also a homepage bognerart.eu with the same name, where you have a good chance to find newer photos than at flickr. Background info to the respective series you will find at my photoblog blog.bognerart.eu.

Already as child I liked to take photos and I thank my father, who enthralled me for this hobby. My favorite motives changed over the years and in the meantime a big part of my motives are nature and landscape photos, since they are unproblematic to publish. Privately I like to shoot portraits and at events also. To photograph means for me painting with light and I love backlight and sidelight. If possible I use the available light and don't use a flash.

I used a lot of different analog and digital cameras, until I found out, what meets most my creative imagination. My recent cameras are a Canon PowerShot G7 as a "pocket camera" and a Pentax K100D with 2 very lightweighted lenses with a 35mm-focusrange from 28-300mm.The reflex camera is especially for taking photos with a "creative vision". Very important for both cameras is for me to have a good compromise between quality and weight, because the best camera is useless, if you don't have it with you, when you need it. All my photos are geotagged, so you can see for every photo at the flickr-map the district, where it was taken. Older photos have the same coordinates for the whole series, newer ones contain the data of a WBT-201 GPS tracking system.

It is not so easy to choose the best photos. Probably you will get the best overview, when you look at the album covers in my photo gallery bognerart.eu or also at picasa. At flickr I don't use sets, but only tags. The tags for my photos are created semiautomatically with an own coded Linux-script.and always are used for the whole series. As helping applications the script uses gpsbabel, gpsphoto and exiftool. Depending on the task, I use for image processing gimp, bibble or the kipi plugins. The frame is added with ImageMagick. You can discuss about the esthetic of this frame, but I see no better way to make it complicated to abuse the photos. I don't like flickr-groups a lot, which force one to make a certain number of comments. I prefer it to comment photos individually and I discover these photos usually by chance, most times following a link of the contacts of the works of photographers I like. If I mark a photo as favorite, then this is the biggest award I can give you, because I try to remember these photos in my memory. Therefore a lot of excellent photos I cannot and do not want to mark. The selection of such a photo is a very emotional matter. My photos get a tag, if they were commented, if someone marks them as favorite or if they are honored in any way.
