I am just resuming photography after a 25 year hiatus. Yes I am truly ancient but still love the magic of the camera to achieve unique moments that will never be seen again.
Mostly what I try to do is "vernacular" (ala Walker Evans tho mostly in color and with 1/10,000th of the talent) and straight-on reportage with all too frequent lapses into prettifying.
I also attempt collage. I use my own creations and also duplicate expose in PICASA - I don't own or know PhotoShop and it is too late in life to learn. I find that trying to meld photographs into a new form extends the photographic process in a very nice way
Even though they are not very good I still thrill every time I download new photos; just as I once was unable to wait for the mail to return my slides. To be able to view all these incomparable images from people worldwide... Flickr is a blessing... and ridiculoualy additive..
