Clinical Chemist/Hematologist in hospital labs since 1966.

Husband was always a photo fanatic but I merely assisted, never got deeply into it all. Until 1979 when I gave him a darkroom. I ended up being the technician because I loved it. So I eventually had to get my own camera. I think it was a Minolta.

I used to paint but painting with cameras was so much more fun. I never was a very good painter.

Fought going digital but finally gave in a few years ago because film is just too expensive for me and my husband to go out and shoot a few hundred shots in an afternoon.

I quickly discovered that going digital put me back in the darkroom.

Lately "discovered" the Florida wading birds virtually in our back yard so we've been specializing in them. They are such hams and pose so well for us.

My darkroom is now my computer. I can spend hours at it. Though mostly all I do is tweak sharpness, exposure and an occasional crop. I'm still in the School of it should look as it did outta the camera.

I live in Dunedin, Florida (since 1965) Married to a Confederate. A few of my other hobbies are haiku, poetry and history in general. I am a Custer Historian, studying his Era and not just one bad hair day. (I was quite tickled to find that my G-grandaddy was Algonquin).

I do not comment on a photo just 'cause it's from a contact. I comment on photos that catch my eye and emotions. I rarely comment on photos of people, especially children. I don't enjoy photos of children (don't enjoy children) so if I comment on one it must be really exceptional to me. I also rarely respond to "message" photos or oppressively "derivative" photos.

Many of my comments may be just one word, but it will be a word that says what I mean to say about the photo.
