Capturing images of my home town, Sydney, is my passion and the chance to walk in the wilderness is my ambition. I am also proud to be an administrator for what I believe is the premier group in a very crowded Flickr community. It is our mission at ABW Gallery to showcase images that speak to us with their beauty, and sometimes with their power to interpret the awesomeness of Nature.
When the photographers of these images take themselves and their cameras beyond the confines of the familiar and the routine; when all that matters is the light and the composition; when the patience to get the shot right is rewarded with that special image and it is shared with the world, then some of the ugliness that we see across the globe is diminished if but for a moment.

We need little education to know that the natural world speaks to us every day of our lives, and the closer we get to the grasses and the trees and children of these miracles, the flowers, the closer we get to Natures' heart and paradoxically further from our understanding of her. We photographers seek some answers to that paradox with our lenses, our eyes, but most importantly with our hearts as we try to capture the life breath of the landscape in front of us without the need to judge.
To that end ABW stands as a beacon of commitment to search for the finest nature images and to be a repository of succinct commentary and positive analysis.
