In 1997 the 76084 Locomotive Company Limited was formed after number 76084, a British Railways Standard Class 4 2-6-0 locomotive, was purchased from a fellow steam enthusiast. 76084 was moved to Ian Storey's Works near Morpeth, Northumberland where it is being restored to main line running condition with a completion date sometime in 2010. It is intended that 76084 will have the North Yorkshire Moors Railway as its home base. This will not preclude its use on other privately owned railways.
