Pleased to meet you, I am Elsa Björg Magnúsdóttir.

I am born and raised in Reykjavík, Iceland, in a house by the sea. Viewing the shoreline of the city centre to one side and glaciers and mountains to the other, I live in, what mystics claim to be the largest Elven area in Iceland. (Believe it or not, elves are excellent listeners...)

My Viking blood and restless Nature ruled by the Sagittarian, has pulled me out to explore the big world outside my tiny island. I studied philosophy in Venice and lived in London for three years, bringing back a Masters degree in philosophy, loads of work (and pub) experience and some music demos. But like my father used to say, Iceland holds unique powers to pull its descendants back to its shore and here I am yet again in my old house by the sea.

The blend of magnificent Nature and man-changing experiences in my personal life gives me constant inspiration to express myself with the camera. It first began as the consuming desire to capture the moment, the capture being an attempt to the imprisonment of time. But the role of the camera quickly evolved into a different kind of desire, that of self expression. I feel that the little portraits and sketches of my life can say more than any amount of words can do.

For now – this is my aspiration.

Flickr visualises moments and seconds of peoples’ lives, and is thus an ideal place to store the flickers of my own life. For me to express and you to impress.
