I believe anyone who uses a camera is a photographer. Whether you're an "amateur", "pro" or 'wannabee' and whether you're photography is good, bad or indifferent are different questions. Time will usually answer those questions.

I'm an artist. I've always had a desire to be an artist but didn't have the time, until I started studying art about five years ago. I've been taking all different types of art classes - art history, drawing, painting, design, sculpture, graphics; the exploration into different media, has been a fantastic learning experience. I started taking photography classes two years ago and I'm hooked.

I'm not sure why but I have another photostream at www.flickr.com/photos/jzbassguitar. I think I started this photostream for free, then I ran into the limitations of the free account so, I decided to pay for a pro account. Other than showing some of my basses, I really don't have any rational for the other images in my photostream.

Most of the photos on my photostream were taken by me; snapshots, documentation and "artistic." Some were taken before I knew Photoshop even existed, some have been worked on with Photoshop and some displayed as shot.

There are photos were taken by friends, especially photos of me playing with the different bands I perform with. I tried to give credit for each photo that has been been taken by others, I apologize for any omissions.

I'm currently taking a basic B&W film photography class so I'm slowed down by the whole process in the darkroom and then scanning either photos or film.

I'm a solid, mature and experienced bass player. Covers or originals-it's all good to me, if it's played well and with feeling. I stay pretty busy but I'm always up for a new project -Please contact me.

Although I've owned dozens of bass guitars in my life time, since I picked up my first of two Mustang basses (reissued) in 7/2002 I've been keen on short scale basses. I have a red Mustang that I usually have roundwound strings on and a white Mustang that I use flatwound strings on. They're the first basses I grab for a gig. I always get comments from other bassists who are surprized at the quality of the sound I get out of my Mustangs.

I bought a vintage 1972 Fender Mustang with sunburst finish from craigslist last week and will post photos soon.

On a recent road trip with the DelRossi band I picked a Danelectro Long Horn, short scale bass.

I also use the Rogue copy of a Hofner "Beatle" bass. I recently purchased a vintage 1976 Richenbacker 3000 (another 30" scale bass) I really dig playing that one too. A guy can never have enough basses - ya know what I mean jelly bean?
