I love studying the technical aspects of photography; the techniques, the processes, the tools of the trade, but what really keeps me shooting is the awe-inspiring power of creating art with light and a box. I am heavily influenced by the work of my peers and after many years, am still searching for my own photographic style, but I love to experiment and I love the excitement of getting a shot just right. It's always interesting to me to see what others think of the images that I love best. . . are my emotions associated with each image influencing my judgement? or are they improving my perspective? Does another viewer feel from my shot what I feel?
I strive, as any artist, to improve and grow within my chosen medium and hope you enjoy my work.

I am currently residing in Missoula, Montana.

I have started a Photography website to share my knowledge on the subject. Below is a link to my blog. Hope you like it and hopefully it helps create better photographers.

    John Lisonbee says:

"Although I've only had the brief chance to meet this awesome photographer, Ayresphotograpy is a user that I always look forward to seeing his new work. His landscape photography always makes me say 'WOW! I never thought of getting the shot like that!' or 'Great timing and wonderful composition!' On top of all that, he's got one wicked camera, and seems like a equally wicked cool guy."
