Temps Perdu - The Look & Feel of Memory

This is a group set up by Eduard Germis and myself. It's an idea that's interested me since I started photography and it could make a great group so feel free to look it up.

"jim bob's inspired and unique vision is based in one simple principle: following the light. that may seem an obvious truism to most photographers; but how many among us truly take the time to understand the glorious possibilities for image-making inherent in that one act? thank you for reminding us about the beauty that can be when we allow photons to guide us."

"One of my favourite contacts from when I first came to Flickr, I was totally knocked out by the style and quality of his photos and he continues to develop (ho ho) and impress. Cinematic, atmospheric, quirky and original. When he uploads something I am always itching to see it. He has impeccable taste and has pointed me in the direction of some modern day masters of film photography. Cheers Jimblob."

"The "JBB style" is so unique !!! it's true that we are always being influenced by what we see, not only in flickr but in art, paintings, cinema, and above all in our daily living. What we see and what we feel is what really inspires us to go shooting. And for sure, James really knows how to see, he's got a brave heart to feel, and skilled hands to shoot.
I admire your work, your talent, and your heart
We all love JBB !!!"29th May, 2008

Mr Hamish says:
"James is a versatile and varied photographer, always seeking a new, interesting perspective on his chosen subject. This has yielded some awe inspiring results, not just of the peculiar, but also the mundane; always in his inimitable style which can be seen in all his photographs despite the huge breadth of subjects covered. From a technological perspective James continues to be audacious in his search for new tools with which to ply his trade. Apparently not satisfied with the range of effects achievable by digital means, he experiments with everything and anything he can get his hands on; my particular favourite being his lovely Minolta Autocord. His ostensible adventurousness makes him, in my opinion, a great asset not only to flickr, but to photography as whole.
Despite the mass of approbative comments he has accumulated over the past year, he still remains modest and humble. I am sure that this modesty is what allows him to continue to inspire and innovate, but also has a practical benefit to lesser photographers like myself. He was one of my first contacts, always taking the time to view my pictures, write encouraging praise and give helpful advice. Since meeting him in person, not only has he continued to inspire, but also proved to be entertaining, humorous, and most of all extremely friendly. I regret greatly that our personal encounters have been so few and will remain so due to our differing paths, but I consider it a great honour that I was able to know such a man for any time at all and I wish him the greatest success in whatever path he chooses to follow, and am sure that such success will inevitably come his way."28th May, 2008

i didn't mean to go to Stoke says:
"James is one of the greatest discoveries i have made all year on flickr.
He draws us in to make a connection with the subject.. A street photographer like James wanders around town, ready to react when something unexpected comes his way. He has a sublime mastery of technique, a truly stunning cinematic breath of vision, with dappled sunlight, the orange rays of the blinding sun to create layers of shadows and textures, to conjure an atmosphere of melancholic wistfulness.
Also his muse is the stunning Jo, who melts my heart, this guy is heading for a career as a pro photography, remember where you saw him first."8th December, 2007

"James is so very sweet and kind...he has a heart of gold and does not miss the small details in life. His shots are real and show an immense amount of depth. With all that talent, heart, and drive...I believe he will achieve anything he wants to in life, photography and otherwise."
