Trying to make the leap from snapshots to something more.
I love shallow depth of field and natural light. Drawn to landscapes and nature, shadows, patterns, minimalism, abstraction, macro, fleeting moments of human interaction, wide angle, contrasty BW, the macabre, antique photos, Hipstamatic. A lot of my work involves seeking out candid moments, but don't post many. Finally got myself a tripod and am learning what I can do with it.
Was a linguist and developer in the field of speech tech. Taught German at university for a number of years and English as a foreign language for the city of Frankfurt am Main and at private schools.
I removed my dad's 1940's photos - they were being used without permission.
