11-19-06 – Novice (Hey Haye Haaeee! I can speak!)
10-07-07 – Fully Professed O M G! (my journey just really began...)
When Did I Discover My Calling?
I can remember very little running around in a cape… oddly draped upon my head like a veil. Hmmmmm. (Mom thought it was Batman or Robin type of gig… NOT!)
A few years later, in Catholic school the nun's always seemed to have continual cause to beat me with their rulers.
Singing in choir after… Priests in long ornate robes... Alter boys… Fantasizing about Father What’s-his-name… the big, beefy, Irish red headed hunky priest.
Yummmy. (I would have been on my knees in a moment….)
My first experience with the Seattle Sisters stirred images and memories that I hadn't thought of in years. Standing off to the sidelines, watching Sisters burst into the bar. They lovingly attacked us wallflowers (thinking we were protected by staying distant against the wall) as they asked for donations. Sooooo much fun. Stirrings of guilty feelings. Fun loving molestations. Pushing so many boundaries.
I was stunned.
Watching the reaction from the crowd. Watching the (mostly) positive responses of the community. The Sister’s reflection of compliments back. And the shoes… my God… the Sisters seemed 12' tall!
They scared the hell out of me. (Dawnna –your fangs really made me nervous…) They were fun, funny, HUGE, grand clowns, loving agents-for-change, and scary as hell.
And yet, like a moth to a flame… I kept coming back to ‘is there a chance’ that I could ever be a Sister? (It took a couple years and lots of patience of Babylon…)
THANK YOU for not giving up on me.

Big Sister : Sister Ivanna Mande Lie We both are headstrong aren’t we?!?!?!
Origin of Your Name
There were several to choose from… until a Sister stated that it really should be something relevant and/or personal. The fun names just drifted away. My partner looked at me, with a single raised eyebrow, stating, ‘Edith’ ‘Edith Moorecock’.
I thought I heard bells and trumpets… saw bright heavenly beams of light shining down from above… and suddenly the name stuck.
(Perhaps ya’ gotta ‘know’ me to really understand how true it is!)
Oh yeah… then I remembered to re-adjust my tarnished and very crooked halo on the way to go get some new knee pads!
Religious Beliefs
I am who I am. I believe what I believe. I’m not here to change you. However, I am here to get you to start thinking.
A friend of mine once stated about an election, “I don’t have to think… the Pope does that for us…”
Excuse me??? (Not thinking? Not speaking up??? NOT 4 ME!!!)
Somehow I thought of:
“In Germany they came first for the Communists, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Communist. Then they came for the Jews, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a trade unionist. Then they came for the Catholics, and I didn't speak up because I was a Protestant. Then they came for me, and by that time no one was left to speak up.”
--Pastor Martin Niemöller, 1945
I try to be ‘true’ to me. I try and let people know it is ‘ok’ to be themselves. It truly is ‘ok’ to live a joyous, fulfilled, guilt-free life. It all starts within you… it all starts with the ‘power of one’
Each of us holds the key to the power of one one by one we can make a change.
it begins with believing it starts in the heart
then flows through the soul and changes the world
imagine how life will be when we stand in unity
each of us holds a key it's inside of you and me
Donna Summer – The Power Of One.
Each of us – is in charge of our own destiny.
It all starts with believing in ourselves!
Guidelines For Life
Let’s take a look at some of the Religious Right’s all-powerful Laws of Life…
God’s Rules (with an Edith twist!)
LOVE ALL PEOPLE AS YOURSELF.
(see it’s not just about masturbation… go forth and freely love ‘promulgating universal joy!’)
Treat others as you like to be treated…
(as my partner states… “It’s only kinky the first time!”)
Do not put anything ahead of you… it all starts from within.
(The personal power of ‘one’! Go listen to Donna Summer’s The Power Of One)
Do not make or worship idols.
(Ummmm. Hello? What about Tom Selleck or George Clooney??? Who thought this one up?)
Take one day of complete rest each week.
(of course this means after your fun, festive, and safer-sex-filled night & day before!)
Honor your father and your mother.
(Who’s your daddy? You do know they do call us Sisters “mutha ###’s” sometimes!?!?!)
Do not commit adultery.
(I think they forgot ‘on video’ at the end of that one . . . )
Do not steal or covet other people’s possessions.
(except for SHOES. Duuuhhh!)
and... ‘Love’ your neighbor as you do yourself…
(Back to the ‘universal joy’ ! Just remember to clean-up afterwards.)
Loving Quotes…
"NEXT!"
"Bitch!”
“Those are some awwwwesome boots!”
“I don’t understand your name?” (Really? O M G Becky! I’m sorry for you. . . and your partner…)
Sister Edith’s Life lessons
“Everything happens for a reason…” (life does ‘suck’ sometimes. Felatiate ‘better’!)
“It's not what you say… it's what (& who) you do!”
“You’ve got to ‘give’ to ‘receive’.” (Hmmmmm. Luv this Top/Bottom talk?!?!?)
“You’ve got to give it all you’ve got!”
“Don’t bite off more than you can chew….” ( Edith’s motto : SWALLOW!)
“Don’t judge this book by it’s cover!”
OH... and if you've made it THIS far...
