"Fantastic photography, good banter and the odd vegetarian recipe idea for nothing more than a guestlist place and a couple of pints. Ideal really."

"From his characteristic lower-case titles to the essentially UK northern urban subject matter, Andy’s body of work is so cool you could chill your pint with it.
There are essentially three strands to Andy’s photostream so far. In one strand, he earnestly presents pictures of his band (big cash prizes), other bands and friends in a photojournalistic style. If Andy gave us nothing more than this, his stream would be a formidable scrapbook of a certain lifestyle from the inside.
But Andy has a keen sense of the minimalist ethic too which he presents in such works as “transit” and “great leap forward”.
Of the latter, I commented:
“Though the grey and white sky dominates the work, this is a graphically bold, original crop with most of the detail in the lower right corner, seen in silhouette. Pictorially spectacular and symbolic at the same time, this is the work of a very talented photographer.”
The third strand of Andy’s work manages to combine the two other strands, thereby going beyond photojournalism whilst retaining its guiding principles and fusing it with his acute sense of minimalist values.
Works such as “sky ride” and “flower competition” fit into this category, pictures that are so much more than the sum total of the visual elements contained therein. That takes vision, daring and above all, great skill.
I look forward with interest to see how adc2’s work develops."6th September, 2006
