I'm an amatuer, but I like to dabble. My composition is still lacking, since I tend to take candid spur-of-the-moment shots, or just pictures of anything that catches my fancy. I don't compose or prepare or make much of an effort, since I don't get paid for my photographs. Photography is for me to enjoy, not to waste my time.

I chose Flickr since it's fast, it has lots of user, and actually has a usable search system. I prefer any comments to be directed to my e-mail if possible.

Two pet peeves about Flickr: First is the abuse/misuse of tags, such as tag spamming a hundred pics with the same 10 tags, using overly long tags (thisismyphotoofbruneiwhereisawmygfandmybro... etc), using way too many tags, and so on and so forth. Second is people who choose to let no one see anything more than a thumbnail size picture. If you don't want people stealing your work, at least let them see the "large" size (which is useless for stealing/printing). If you're a pro photographer, try a non-community oriented photo host. It's not as if some ad agency regularly peruses Flickr for stock photos.

One more thing: I have pictures of children as they are in normal life. I have had comments/e-mails from "concerned citizens" about "bad people" viewing these pictures. Please don't bother, and keep your paranoia well away from me. If you want pics like these to go away, then you might as well nuke the countries in which they're taken, for they are not (yet) tainted by western idiocy, and it's a normal way of life for them. You guys scare me a lot more than the "bad people" you talk about.

*Update*
I've reached the 200 pic limit of my non-pro account, so there probably will be no new pics from me in this account, even though it's only the tip of the iceberg. Also, all 200 pics are "public". There are no hidden or "friends only" pics. That's just how I share. There are, however, two that have been flagged (not by me) as "moderate". These can be viewed if you are logged in, they just can't be searched or viewed by guests. If I did have any private pics, they wouldn't have any viewers, since I don't have any contacts (I don't login often enough for that).

I also currently do not have any other online photo albums.

*Update 2011* Mikan (in my contacts) has generously gifted me a pro account. So, not only will the original size (very big) be available to everyone, I will also start uploading new pics. Everyone who appreciates this please give a big thanks to Mikan! Also, I'll be making some photos "moderate", so you'll have to be logged in to see them. This is just to keep on the safe side, and to give the "concerned" folks nothing to whine about.
