Odio le fotografie dei luoghi.
Ma, chissà perchè, ogni volta che Mastronardi sforna una nuova fotografia io rimango lì, a guardarla. Sono i colori che mi colpiscono, quella pulizia geometrica, quell'attenzione verso non luoghi che sanno raccontare storie. Ci si possono vedere film, romanzi, canzoni.
E allora mi dico che io continuo ad odiare i paesaggi. Ad odiare le fotografie dei luoghi.
Però amo le foto dei paesaggi e dei luoghi di Mastronardi. Perchè non sono mai scontate, nè banali, ma sono piene di qualcosa, di musiche, immagini, odori.
E anche quando fotografa le persone sono immortalate in uno stile tutto suo. Basta vedere una sua foto, senza leggere neanche l'autore, per capire che si tratti di un suo scatto.
