H o g n e's photostream  

I actively joined Flickr early 2008 and enjoy the exchange from sharing my work with fellow photographers. I spend most of my time here with my contacts and the group Portfolio Pro.



I am interested in different genres but focus mostly photographing seascapes and landscapes. I also do portraits and event photography but that work is normally not published here.

Equipment and Software
I use a Nikon D7000 body with the fixed Nikon 35mm f/1.8, 50mm f/1.4 and 105mm f/2.8 as well as the walk-round zoom Nikon 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6. I also have a Nikon SB-600 flash but rarely use it. My tripod is a Manfrotto 190XPROB with a 322RC2 joystick head.



My scanned photos are scanned with a Nikon Coolscan 5000 ED based on Fujichrome slides film. The slides were mostly captured using a Nikon FE-2. Today I only shoot digital.

Work Flow
I shoot all my photos in RAW format and use Bibble 5 for RAW conversion. For further adjustment and manipulation I use Photoshop CS3. Finally I also use the command line tools Netpbm and exiftool for various batch work.

Contacts
I do not understand how people can reasonably maintain contact to several hundred people on Flickr so I try to keep a relatively small group of active contacts. As in real life I spend most time on those people that spend time on me and show interest in my work. I periodically remove existing contacts if there is no real exchange (both ways) over time. I typically only add new contacts when we both have shown genuine interest for each other's work over some time.
