I'm keen to improve my photography and therefore any constructive criticism would be much appreciated, both with regard to technique and composition. While I'm familiar with the basics, I'm still very much a beginner, and am completely self taught, although hope to take a few photography courses at some point in the future. (Or possibly just get involved in a club)

Outside of my photo taking I'm a scientist, and am currently working towards my PhD, although at times it can feel like I'm working away from my PhD. I'm a geneticist, working with the yeast Schizosacchromyces pombe, or fission yeast. The lab I work in focuses mainly on the ubiquitin-proteasome system, and other related systems. For those of you not in the know, which I expect will be most of you, ubiquitin is a tag, which is stuck onto various components within the cell, altering how they behave. One of these roles is to mark proteins for destruction, which takes place in the proteasome.
