For my sins I'm currently a full-time painter based in Cheshire, specialising mainly in horses, dogs, wildlife and fieldsports (although have also been known to paint the odd human). I'm self-taught and started painting seriously about 12 years ago, so every day and every new painting is a learning experience. Several lifetimes ago I worked in heritage management, PR and marketing, journalism, lived in Brussels, Rome and Switzerland, trained as a musician and generally wasted my education. No idea how I ended up doing what I do today, but at the moment am pretty happy with it! Who knows, though, I may move onto something else... I still do the occasional bit of translation work when the wolf is at the door (French or Italian mainly).

In my spare time (when?) I like to be out in the English countryside with my camera (I bought a Nikon D80 last year and love it to bits), but more often than not am to be found wading through mountains of laundry and tripping over my husband and son's fishing tackle. Or grocery shopping - a dreadful addiction and am a shameless foodie (well, glutton really)! I cook a lot but rarely get around to washing up - however we artists are allowed to be eccentric (ie: slovenly). Consequently my house is a hovel and that's unlikely to change unless Charles Saatchi buys one of my paintings for a fortune...

If you happen to be going to any of the bigger gamefairs, horse shows, racing at Haydock or Aintree, or anywhere in the North West, do get in touch! I'm often out and about either exhibiting paintings or getting reference photos and it's always great to meet fellow flickerites.
