My name is Kristine Hannon, born in Belgium in 1964 and single mom. Photography is a recent hobby of mine and I am quite new to it. Also I know nothing about photoshop, so untill now my pictures are 'real' and untouched.

Being raised in a loving family and having passed puberty without many problems, my first travels where to France and Spain.
As far as I can remember, traveling was a part of me and after years of beach holidays, it was time for something else. I was going to Africa! Enchanting Kenya, filled with safari days, was a fantastic experience which was the start of more travels. Every year I looked forward to a few weeks of discovering and encountering. Every holiday I said goodbye to Belgium…

The real travel passion however, started in 1998 when I got the opportunity to discover the White Continent. It was the journey of a lifetime, floating between Antarctic icebergs I felt out of this world. The contrast with exotic Papua couldn’t be bigger, from the Pole to the Equator in the same year.
After that, nothing was ever the same…

To travel is to spend time in another culture; meeting people who have another view on life, who make us realize that our way is not always the best. Talking to people who are not as wealthy as we are, but who show us how it is to simply be happy.

Traveling is going back to the source of the earth: nature. It is submitting you to its power and beauty and flowing on the stream of astonishment and admiration. It is being silent amidst the silence and feeling tiny and unimportant in the overpowering vastness of the environment. It is respecting the miracle of nature and its value for all of us. A voyage is always an expedition nourishing the heart and the soul. Magic, nostalgia, mystery, respect, admiration and awe…and many more emotions touch me every time.
