So, 2 years ago I didn't know the first thing about cameras, other than point and click. My friend kindly donated a beautiful Fuji FinePix S5000 to me, until 'I got the basics'. (That still hasn't happened).
My baby is now an Olympus E-500, with 14-54mm lens, 50mm prime lens, and soon to inherit a zoomy zoomy lens. I have a fancy external flash that I can't really use, but it looks good, and a remote control. (This prevents me tipping the tripod over with my foot when running for the self timer).
Anyway, they may not be great photos, but I'm enjoying taking them and enjoy finding other peoples' work, which never ceases to amaze me. Except for the feet.

"After stealing a camera from a brave Vietnam War veteran, Andrea (or Andi, as she loves to be called) set off an a career as a crack photographer. Initially taking pictures of the various puncture wounds and ink drawings on her body, she then moved onto more complex objects, such as shoes and hands.
For a while she experimented with creating a whole new genre of photography, called Karaography. This involves standing up in a room full of strangers, with a mic in one hand and a camera in the other. The rule, quite simply, is that if you don't clap or cheer while Andrea sings, she takes your picture, which then ends up on amiaminger.com.
Her career in photography mirrors the life and strife of Daniel Larusso, the Karate Kid. They both get boxed in the head occasionally, they both drive cars, and perhaps most chilling of all, they both have very short men as their trainer.
