I've been taking pictures since I was about nine years old. My first camera was a Kodak Instamatic, the kind with the 110 cartridge film. Since then, I have grown into a hobbyist, and now I am building a small business.

I decided to start a photography business during the worst recession in several generations. But I think there's no better time than now. You strike while the iron is hot, it's been said.

My maternal grandfather was a photographer during WWII, doing reconnaissance over the Pacific Theater. He also photographed the Japanese surrender and MacArthur's arrival in the Philippines. So, I feel I have something to build on.

I discovered that your perspective changes once a decision is made to go pro. It makes a big difference in how you look at a project. Of course, I still see myself as an artist. But I now have to see myself as a businessman. But I accept the challenge.
