I used to be into photography a lot a few decades ago. I owned a Minolta 35mm film camera with a couple of lenses and Cokin filters. For some reason, I lost interest and my camera sat in its case for the longest time.

When the point and shoot digital cameras came out, I bought one and then another. I think the bug bit me again this past fall and I had to spend a little of my hard earned money to buy the Canon Rebel XTi camera for a Christmas present. Now I have a great digital SLR and I still own my Minolta 35mm film SLR camera.

I am a photographer for the fun of it. I am experimenting with different styles and ideas. I have taken quite a few photos in the past few months and am now trying new techniques using an ND4 filter and some of my older Cokin graduated filters.

I blame my son in Seattle for getting me back into this fun hobby. I have watched him grow over the past few months and he has taken some fantastic photos with his Nikon D40 camera. We each have our own style, and in a way, I am still searching for the right one for me. Photography is a learning experience and you learn as you go. Everybody has their own technique and mine is to have fun and take the best photo possible. There may be no second opportunities.

Photography is fun because there is a great photo every way you go. You just have to be in the right place at the right time, or learn how to make the best of what you have.
