It’s the different shapes and glances of people that fascinate me most along with the elemental beauty of simple line and tone. I recently have been enjoying location portraiture. I also shoot fine art, landscape, still life, editorial and the odd corporate assignment as well.

Photography is my personal creative outlet. By day, I work as a graphic designer for a large industrial auction company. Though I shoot primarily for pleasure, I do accept freelance photo work and I do shoot a little bit at my day job.

I credit Canadian photographer Freeman Patterson through his books for training me to see.

In the mid 90s I completed my undergraduate degree at Simon Fraser University’s School of Communication (media studies concentration) focussing much of my study on visual communication strategies and pop culture. I incorporated photography projects into my school assignments as often as I could while shooting constantly for the student paper.

I have continued my photographic education at Langara College taking courses in the Continuing Education Photography Program from time to time.

Over the years I have shot with and acquired several types of photo gear. Nowadays I shoot primarily with digital SLRs but I have and do shoot with 35mm, 6x7 and 4x5 film gear.
