The Arkwright Scholarships Trust is a charity that identifies and nurtures future leaders in engineering and related areas of design. We award Engineering Scholarships, through rigorous selection, to high-calibre year 11/S4 students to support them through their 'A' levels or Scottish Highers. Arkwright Scholars are encouraged to: go on to study engineering or a related area of design at university, or to take up a high-quality industrial apprenticeship; and to pursue a technical career.

Arkwright Scholarships consist of an annual financial award to each Scholar and to his/her school, and a range of events that increase a Scholar's understanding of engineering and the world of work.

In 2011, we have launched a new scheme that offers a small number of undergraduate engineering Scholarships.

Since the programme began in 1991 we have awarded over 2640 Scholarships, growing year on year.
