I'm Aramean and live now in diaspora in the Netherlands. My roots are in Mesopotamia, nowadays its south-east Turkey. My parents are from the village Arnas. This summer I have been to my roots for the very first time. For me it was a great experience to see all the hundred and hundreds years old history of my ancestors.

Here you cann find a lot of pictures that I have made of my stay in Tur Abdin. I hope you will enjoy it.

Mor Afrem I Barsoum says: About Beth Nahrin (Mesopotamia):
"Beth Nahrin of the Arameans, the beloved place of the Syrians".

Besides these pictures I have also made pictures of the internment of Mor Julius Yeshu' Çiçek at 5 November 2005.

I would like to develope this site more and make more pictures of our culture, traditions and the Syriac-Orthodox church. To show the world more about the Arameans in diaspora.

Regards,
Sylvia beth Yahkub
