Started out as just some pictures taken with my little cameraphone on the theme of pilgrimage--visits to temples and shrines, trails and paths, views along the way, in central Japan. The screen name comes from the Buddhist pilgrimage to sacred sites in central Japan that I made in 2002.

[Am now using a Nikon 5100, before that a KDDI-CA W31CA, or a DoCoMo N506iS (both cameraphones). The earlier pictures were taken with a different cameraphone.]

Statement of respect for copyright: I will never use anyone's flickr'd foto in a blog or in any other way without first obtaining their permission. I "fave" quite a few pictures without leaving a written comment, because I believe the act of "faving" is itself a complementary comment. I do it with no sense of disrespect or with any ill-intent.

I began my practice of the Way as a child, and received initiation from a meditation master when I was about 24. Brought up in a devout Christian household, since adulthood I have refrained from formal alliance with any religion and have resisted considering one Way better than another. My Buddhist practice now includes aspects of both Therevada and Mayahana, and to that I have added aspects of Christianity, Taoism, Hinduism, Confucianism, and Shinto. This approach was approved by my meditation Master, back in 1969. Nearly forty years have passed since I started on this path, and I continue on it now as a pilgrim striving to better understand the relationship between human beings and nature, in order to better spread compassion and the alleviation of suffering.
